And while I appreciate that some elements in a strategy game will always be strong v. an entire class (I suppose Blight damage has same issue v. To begin with, among the many problems, it is inapplicable against too many things - including v. Spirit damage mechanic is really the most problematic aspects among all the damage channels: It really should be re-worked from ground-up. On the other hand, it's one of the most situational high powered abilities in the game because outside of dealing with a mind control happy rogue or a theocrat with alot of CP, you're not going to actually get anything out of it. On one hand, it REALLY punishes theocrats, but Smite is such an abusable spell on such an incredibly uncommon element, and Instant Wrath is just as strong. It's in a place where I don't really know what to do with it. I'll agree that having an item craftable that hard counters a class is unfair, but spirit damage comes into play so rarely. Strong will basically only hurts human priests and theocrats. ![]() Spirit damage spells are also very hard to come by outside of buff effects.Įven frost damage is more common, sitting on shadow stalkers and their lesser form, as well as fairy fire's damage. Only one buildable non-theocrat unit even does spirit damage that isn't attached to something else. Keep in mind that spirit damage is also incredibly rare outside of theocrats and mind control effects. ![]()
